Papamoa Rotary is to host its annual charity golf tournament for the fifth time on Anzac Day.

The tournament will be held at Mount Maunganui Golf Course with Powerco being the principal sponsor.

Papamoa Rotary is a young Rotary club which has successfully run fishing contests and published the local Who's Who in the few years since it was chartered.

Donations of over $160,000 have been made to the local and wider community.

This year's tournament will benefit Parkinson's BoP and Tauranga Land Search and Rescue.

Last year $7000 was given to the local Kiwi Can organisation, and $7000 went to the Papamoa Rotary Charitable Trust. Two years ago at the Powerco Charity Golf Tournament, a $23,500 All Terrain Vehicle was presented to the Papamoa Surf Lifesaving club so they could better patrol the eastern reaches of Papamoa Beach.
