Winning good government policy for W the automotive industry and motorists is important.
Why?
People often think government regulations and policy just happens. In most cases it isn't that simple.
VACC has to develop well informed industry positions and fight for them in in the political arena.
For example, VACC fought hard to keep automotive workshops open during COVID so they could keep Victoria's fleet of cars and trucks and ambulances on the road.
We spearheaded the movement to have fuel theft one reason for higher fuel prices criminalised in Victoria.
VACC also fights to create better business rules between car repairers and car insurers that mean you can choose who repairs your vehicle and where they do it.
These things are meaningful to the automotive industry and all road-users.
So, what would happen if an industry doesn't have a voice for its members?
If an industry doesn't have an advocate willing to fight every day for the important stuff, you run the risk of becoming invisible to government, and that's not good for anyone.
VACC has advocated for the automotive industry for 106 years, and we'll keep doing it for the next 100.
If you're a VACC member, thank you for supporting your peak body and making a difference in the lives of Victorians. If you're not a member, go to vacc.com.au and be part of something bigger.
