Having fun is important but the principle aim of the Central South Island Charity Bike Ride 2018 ride is to add to the $1,600,000 the ride has already raised over the years for local South Canterbury Charities.
So where do the riders ride?
The Route DAY ONE The Cyclists travel from Timaru to Tekapo via Cave and stop in Fairlie for lunch.
They then ride up the Burkes Pass and on through Tekapo to the Army Barracks for the night.
DAY TWO The next leg of the journey provides some spectacular scenery as the cyclists ride past Lake Pukaki and on to Twizel then to Omarama for lunch, they then ride on to Kurow where they stay overnight in various locations.
DAY THREE The final leg of the journey has cyclists riding from Kurow to Ikawai and Waihaorunga and on to Waimate for lunch then to Timaru finishing at the SBS Events Centre in Morgans Road.
A Charity Dinner held at the Phar Lap Raceway helps the cyclists unwind after their 369km journey.
